William (Billy) Arthur Carter, 87, of Alvord, Texas passed away peacefully in his home, surrounded by family on Tuesday evening, January 23, 2024.
Billy was born on July 21, 1936 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Ernest Gerald Carter and Mary Josephine (Sallee) Carter. He attended Paschel High School where he loved playing football.
Billy was an Iron Worker with Local 263 for over 50 years. He became saved and he spent his time being part of a prison ministry program to help others find the Lord. He loved his family deeply and enjoyed holidays and family get togethers. He made his famous pecan pies for anyone and everyone during the holidays. He spent all of his vacation time in Colorado where he and Jean would stay the summer months for many years. Fishing was a passion to him.
He is preceded in death by the love of his life, Jean Carter; his parents and one grandson, Clinton Carter.
He is survived by his children: son, Bill and his spouse, Telvy Carter of Crestline, California; son, Mark and his spouse Tonya Carter of Springtown, Texas; Daughter, Tami and her spouse, Bryan Finley of Alvord, Texas; sister, Linda Johnson of Fort Worth, Texas; grandson, Justin Carter of Crestline, California; grandson, Kevin and his spouse, Hillary Carter of Germany; grandson, Riley Finley of Alvord, Texas; grandson, Steven Adams of Springtown, Texas; grandson, Mark Carter of Springtown, Texas; granddaughter, Sierra Carter of Springtown, Texas; grandson, Yussef Tafich of California; granddaughter, Yvlet and her spouse, Jose Fernandez of California; granddaughter, Shahad and her spouse, Moi Bacio of California; great grandchildren: Rigby, Cali, Anothony, Rhaelet, Luka and Kalila; great- great grandson, Anthony and many nieces and nephews.
Billy’s final earthly resting place will be in South Fork, Colorado; where he fished every stream, pond and lake for the last 65 years.
Billy will be greatly missed by his loving family and many friends.
Services will be a in Colorado, Summer of 2025 with a family reunion, just the way he would want it to be.
