Travis Lamar Walker Jr.

January 7, 1956 — October 8, 2021

“Give me a call” On Friday, October 8th, 2021, Travis L Walker, Jr. started his journey to meet the Lord. Travis was born, raised, and spent much of his life in Ft. Worth, Texas. He graduated from Amon Carter-Riverside High School in 1974. In 1978, Travis hired on at General Dynamics/Lockheed Martin, he retired in 2009 after 31 years. Many of you knew Travis as “Huggie,” some of his Lockheed buddies, as “Tyrone,” the grandkids as “Pap-Paw Huggie,” to his kids he was “Dad” or “Daddy,” but to all he was a Friend. Travis never met a stranger. It does not matter geographically where he was in the US, he would find someone he knew or make a new friend. He would give his last dollar for someone in need. He loved to talk whether in person or on the call and he left a message, “Give me a call.”  Or do not be surprised he may show up at your front door. He loved the Lord and his family. Both meant so much to him, Travis spoke of them often and told many stories. Travis enjoyed Country music, “Classic” country to be specific, fishing, hunting, being outdoors and sitting in his wooden kitchen chair looking out the window. As we continue his legacy, remembering his laughter, his smile, his candid heart, and his stories, take a moment… you’ll hear his voice. Ferlin Husky sings it best “Wings of a Dove,” Fly High on the Wings of a Dove, Huggie. Travis is preceded in death by his father, Travis L Walker, Sr, “Sonny,” his sister, Sharon Kay Walker, his mother, Doris Wagner McCollum, and Stepfather, William McCollum “Bill” and many grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and a niece. He is survived by his oldest Daughter, Karen Walker Munden, husband Dan Munden, grandchildren, Cody Mills, wife Tiana, great-grandchild, Cooper Mills, Colton Mills and bonus grandchildren, Tyler Munden and Kennedy Munden. His second Daughter, Kathy Walker Stokes, husband, Mack Stokes, grandchildren, Laney Ivey and Kamden Stokes, His Son, Kevin Walker “Bubba,” wife Haley Walker, grandchildren, Tripp Walker and Trew Walker.
