Terry Harlan Pennington, Jr., 61, of Fort Worth, Texas, passed away on November 23, 2025. He was born on January 13, 1964, in Charleston, West Virginia.
Terry spent much of his life on the open road as a truck driver, a career he cherished for the freedom, music, and time for reflection it offered. He was equally at home on a motorcycle or horseback, and he was an accomplished farrier whose work with horses brought him great pride and fulfillment. A devoted fan of both the Dallas Cowboys and the Kansas City Chiefs, Terry also enjoyed taking his wife dancing and sharing simple joys with the people he loved.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Carolyn Sue Pennington and sister-in-law, Terrie Minard Pennington.
Terry is survived by his loving wife, Terry Smothers Pennington; his father, Terry Harlan Pennington, Sr; daughter, Morgan Atkins; and grandchildren Emma, Lily, Elijah, and Meli. He is also survived by his siblings: Tharon Pennington and wife, Tasha, of Indiana; Tracy Pennington of West Virginia; Nikki Chowning and husband, Greg, of Kentucky; and Brandon Pennington of Kentucky; nieces and nephews, Johnathan Pennington, Clayton Pennington, Ezra Pennington, Isaiah Pennington, Judah Pennington, Dalton and Samantha Chowning, Mason and Lindsey Chowning, James Chowning, Khersha and Douglas Mason and Jett Pennington; great nieces and nephews, Ryder, Alba, Owen, Colby, Kason, JaKharia, Samuel, Douglas and Aryiah. In addition, he leaves behind his cousins, Penny Adkins Quintrell and Brandon Adkins, along with numerous other cousins, extended family members, and a host of friends.
A celebration of life service will be held at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, December 6, 2025 at Alpine Funeral Home located at 2300 N. Sylvania Avenue, Fort Worth, Texas 76111.
