Shannon LyDell Greer

Shannon LyDell Greer, 46, of Fort Worth, Texas left this earthly plane on August 5, 2023 in Dallas, Texas. He was born on January 26, 1977 to Deborah Ann Abbott and Dana LyDell Greer in Longview, Texas.

Shannon graduated class of 1995 from Hallsville High School in Hallsville, Texas. He attended the University of Texas at Arlington and pursued a degree in Communications. 

Shannon was a seasoned musician and a true lover of music. He lived to play guitar and was a born performer. During his 20 plus years of being involved in music, he had two long-term bands: Rome i$ Burnin and Phorids; where he had the chance to immortalize his music forever through several EPs and two albums. 

A natural leader, Shannon led a crew while he was employed at Leggett & Platt as the sample department supervisor for their flooring division. Shannon married the love of his life, Roxie, on September 30, 2018. Although he had his own personal struggles over the years, Shannon was an unrelentingly loyal friend to his network of friends. He was the kind of guy that defended the downtrodden and equally strived to protect his own.

Shannon was a devoted father and husband. He loved his son and his wife with all he had.

He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Virginia (Mamaw) and Don (Papaw), and his paternal grandparents, Cleo (Meme) and Robert (Papa).

Shannon is survived by his wife, Roxie; son, Donovan; his parents, Dana and Deborah; his step-parents, Bruce and Crystal; his brother, Patrick and wife, Laura; sibling Geoffrey, and their partner, Alex; step-sisters: Ashley and husband, Jared; Chelsey and husband, Robin; step-brother Corey and wife, Kassy; and several cousins and friends. 

Two visitations will be held from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., Thursday, August 17, 2023 and 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., Friday, August 18, 2023 at Williams & Lucas Funeral Home Chapel, 517 N Sylvania Ave, Fort Worth, Texas, 76111. His celebration of life service will be held at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, August 19, 2023 at Williams & Lucas Funeral Home Chapel, 517 N Sylvania Ave, Fort Worth, Texas, 76111. The service will be officiated by Shannon’s childhood friend, Shannon Stevens. Following the service, there will be a gathering at Shannon’s mother-in-law’s house.

He will be sorely missed by all whose lives he touched. He lived a rocker and died a rocker….
