Remembering Scott Wayne Gervais
September 28, 1957 – October 21, 2025
Our hearts are heavy as we share that Scott Wayne Gervais, of Fort Worth, Texas, passed away unexpectedly from atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease at the age of 68.
Scott had a big heart, a quick wit, and a sense of humor that could light up any room. He loved beaches, blue water, and the quiet joy of scuba diving, the ocean was his happy place. He was also an avid football fan, and Sundays were reserved for watching the game and cheering on his team.
Scott had a remarkable connection with animals. He could charm any creature, big or small. Over the years, he cared for dogs, cats, horses, goats, rabbits, and more while house-sitting for friends and family. Animals always seemed to find their way to him, knowing they were safe and loved. He even made a habit of feeding the stray dogs and cats in his neighborhood, never turning away a hungry or lonely soul.
He was a simple man who was always there if you needed something, never asking for much, always ready to lend a hand. Scott may never have realized just how many lives he touched, or how deeply he was loved, and still is.
After losing his mother, Scott lovingly cared for his father. When his brother passed, he supported his sister-in-law through her grief, and when his father later passed, Scott once again took care of everything with the same steady strength and compassion he showed all his life.
Scott is survived by his sister-in-law Leah Gervais and niece Briauna Gervais; his sister-in-law Leslie Gervais, nephew Joshua Gervais, and niece Chloe Gervais; his best friend and like-a-brother Eric Murry and wife Michelle Murry; his brother David Gervais; and his cousin Jim Gervais.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents on both sides; his parents, Richard and M.J. Gervais; his brother, Steve Gervais; and his uncle, Bill Gervais.
Scott will be remembered for his warmth, humor, loyalty, and the way he made people, and animals, feel at ease. His legacy lives on in every heart he touched.
He will be missed beyond words, but remembered with love that never fades.
In keeping with Scott’s wishes, there will be no memorial service. Instead, cheer loudly at the next football game, raise a toast in his honor, and think of him when you find yourself by blue water. If you’d like to do something in his memory, please consider donating to a local animal rescue group,
that would be the perfect way to honor him.
