Roy Gene Canales

Roy Gene Canales was born on July 17, 1958 in Taylor, Texas to the late Dolores Leija and Joe Canales, II. He passed away on April 3, 2024 in Fort Worth, Texas at the age of 65. 

Roy worked in construction and enjoyed being a hard worker.  He has worked for York Properties. He loved family gatherings where he was known as a joker with a great sense of humor. He was a devoted Dallas Cowboys fan and loved to listen to the Oldies. He was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings, Susan Espinoza, Joe Canales, III and Yolanda Avila. 

He is survived by his siblings, Jose Maria Vasquez and wife, Florestella of Harlingen, Texas; Fernando Canales of Fort Worth; Norma Linda Nava of Forth Worth, Texas; Patsy Lara and husband, Edelvid of Fort Worth; Maria Canales and husband, Juan Artalejo of Fort Worth, Texas; Elizabeth Canales and husband Pablo Matehuala of Dallas; and Monica Canales of Dallas, Texas; numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, extended family members and a host of friends. 

Visitation will be held from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M., Saturday, April 13, 2024 at Williams and Lucas Funeral Home Chapel located at 517 N. Sylvania Avenue, Fort Worth, Texas 76111. Arrangements are under the direction of Alpine Funeral Home in Fort Worth.
