Rose Ann Simat Rexrode

Rose Ann Simat Rexrode, 93, of Fort Worth, TX, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 31, 2022. Rose was born on May 14, 1928, to Mike Sr. and Mandy Simat in Calumet, Minnesota. Rose graduated from Greenway High School and was a majorette for the marching band.

On June 3, 1950, Rose married the love of her life, Clyde Rexrode Jr. Rose and Clyde went on to have three children, Louis Rexrode, Dana Rexrode-Johnson and Debra Rexrode-Pizzute-Longfeathers. She also had a step-son, Oscar Rexrode-Wilson, and in 1971, Rose and Clyde opened up their home to Lucrecia Recondo-Litherland, who became an instant addition to the family. After Clyde’s death in 1983, Rose retired from her 14 year career at Santa Fe Railroad at the age of 55. She spent some time traveling where she visited many states and countries on her bucket list. She loved to go square dancing and was an active member of a Square Dancing Club in Kerrville, TX. She also enjoyed giving back to the community through volunteering, but her favorite way to spend time was with her family.

Rose was a believer in God and took pride in her faith. She will be remembered and acknowledged as a caring, loyal, hard working, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved her children Louis, Dana, Debra, Oscar, and Lurcrecia as well as her many grandchildren and great grandchildren and she will be missed greatly by all of them.

Rose was predeceased by her husband Clyde, her parents Mike Sr. and Mandy Simat, her siblings Mike Jr., Louis, John, Mildred, Mary, and Ruth Simat, and her daughter Debra. She is survived by her children Oscar, Louis, Dana, and Lucrecia; her grandchildren, Samantha, Toby, Bailey, Joy, Cole, Cori, Eric, Heidi, Raquel, and Kelly; and her great grandchildren, Emma, Gabriel, Abbigayle, Ethan, Oliver, Lillian, Emily, River, Ming, Daisy, Bryant, Nathan, Xaviar, Julissa, Campbell, Spencer, Jordan, Edan, and Sutton.

Rose requested that her ashes be laid to rest beside her husband at Stony Point Cemetery in Kansas City, KS. There will be no funeral service, but a graveside service date is to be determined.
