Robert Thompson was born on December 4, 1931 in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Mittie Beatrice (Ellis) and Rev. Dr. William Howard Thompson. He passed in to the loving arms of his Lord and Savior on April 11, 2024 in Hurst, Texas. 

He served our country in the United States Army and retired from Feldman Lumber.  He was a social butterfly and loved everyone he came in contact with. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Marjorie Elaine (Howard) Thompson; siblings, William H. Thompson, Jr., Mildred Johnson, Ruth Scott, Matthew Thompson, and Joseph Thompson; and daughter, Roberta Thompson. 

He is survived by his beloved children, April Bennett and husband, Nathaniel of Dallas, Texas, Sandra Hunte and husband, Earl of Bedford, Texas, Debbie Bond of Forest Hills, New York, and Joann Lawrence and husband, Derek of Valley Stream, New York; grandchildren, Robert, Monique, Michael, Makita, Tiffany, Tony, and Yasir; great-grandchildren, Dylan, London, and Aamira; siblings, Gloria Herring, Chelsey Thompson, and Diana Thompson; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and a host of friends who will all miss him dearly. 

A committal service with Army honors will be held at 1:15 P.M., Wednesday, May 1, 2024 at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery located at 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, Texas 75211.
