Richard DeWayne Combs

July 9, 1946 — January 7, 2023

Richard DeWayne Combs, 76, passed away on January 7, 2023. Born and raised in Ft. Worth, Texas, he was the son of Lenora and James P. Combs.  After high school, he attended Southwestern Adventist College and then Loma Linda University in California where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy.  He worked as a Physical Therapist for 50 years and was active in the Texas and American Physical Therapy Associations. Richard was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, grandfather and friend.  He was blessed by a close, personal relationship with Jesus Christ, and believed that his life on earth was just temporary.  His forever home is in heaven. In the peak of his active life, he enjoyed scuba diving, water skiing, snow skiing, golf, travel, reading and the company of loved ones and friends.  In 2016, he received a kidney from a donor through the Donate Life organization and was blessed to have an extended, fulfilled life with his family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Tommie Lee, daughters and their husbands (Denise & Ty Blevins, Renee & Kevin Crawford, and Tami & Brain Highley), seven grandchildren (Austin, Spencer, Madeleine, Annalise, Olivia, Stephen & Jaden), one great granddaughter (Eleanor), brother and sister-in-law (Ron & Pat Combs) and sister (Sue Mackey). He was preceded in death by his parents, sister (Patty Elliott), brother (Norman Combs), and his first wife - the mother of his children (Diane Combs). At his wish…there will not be a memorial service. In lieu of flowers and to honor Richard, please consider a memorial donation to Donate Life, or  become a registered donor. https://www.donatelife.net
