Ollie Marie Norman, née Dale, a cherished homemaker and devoted mother, passed away peacefully on April 28, 2026, in Waco, Texas. Born on October 1, 1935, in the quiet town of Soper, Oklahoma, Ollie's life was a testament to love, faith, and steadfast dedication to her family and her Lord.
Throughout her years, Ollie was the heart and soul of her family—raising her children, nurturing her grandchildren, and lovingly tending to her great-grandchildren. She was a mother and grandmother in the truest sense, not only to her immediate kin but to the entire extended family, enveloping them in her care and affection. Her home was a sanctuary infused with warmth and the aroma of her famous peanut butter cookies often filling the air; a testament to her gentle care and culinary delight.
Ollie's personality radiated love and unwavering devotion to faith. She was a woman of prayer, lifting up blessings for all—whether beloved family members or complete strangers. Her days were graced with gardening, where she found solace and joy in nurturing life from the earth, and with the quiet study and reflection upon the Old Testament Scriptures, which deepened her spiritual journey and fortified her soul.
Her beloved husband, Richard Norman, preceded her in death along with their daughter Veda Starnes and grandson Jeremy Norman. Ollie was born to Vera and Everett Dale, who also rest in peace, as do her siblings Charles Hatcher, Victor Hatcher, Sonny Dale, Neome Hampton, and Victoria Hatcher. She is survived and lovingly remembered by her children Carl Starnes, Lucy Porter, and Debbie Baker; and her sisters Glenda Williams, Barbara Hatcher, and Charlene Hitte, who continue to honor her memory and legacy; as well as a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.
