Nona Taggart

On April 29, 2025 Heaven gained an angel. Nona Joy Davis Taggart fell asleep in the Lord. Nona was born September 12, 1966 in Billings, Montana to Chauncey and Myrtle Jane Davis. She was the oldest of four children, her siblings being Jeff Davis, Bill Davis, and Nettie Davis. The siblings grew up in Livingston, Montana. In Livingston she met her lifelong friend turned Sister Mary Ibrahim. As a teen Nona worked for big brothers and sisters and later in Yellowstone Park. She absolutely loved the mountains and everything about Montana. Curiosity got the best of her when she saw an opportunity to work and live in New York as a nanny. After a brief stint there she moved back to Montana.

In 1989 she married Lyle Taggart and giving birth to her oldest son Trent Taggart and later their second son Tarron. Anyone Nona met loved her and she loved them. She would do anything she could for her family and friends. Nona had a unique yet great sense of humor. Sometimes her quick wit and dark humor would catch people off-guard that you wouldn’t expect from a sweet unsuspecting woman. She was one of the most kind people that you could ever meet. Her son often described her as close to one can get to Mother Teresa without becoming a saint.

She loved Montana and never wanted to leave, However, she had to make the hard choice to move herself and the boys to Keller, Texas with her lifelong friend Mary. In Montana and Texas Nona, Mary, Mary’s husband Basil, and their children Skot, Andrew, Victoria, Michael and Sophia. She would become a 2nd maternal figure for Mary’s children as well. They and Nona’s sons were raised more like siblings than cousins.

She spent nearly 2 decades happily working at the Fossil Creek 11 movie theater. She loved the theater business and worked with many protégé and watched a lot of teenagers grow up along with her own two boys. At work she was a friend, mentor and maternal figure for many of the youth that would work at the theater in that time. She was a proud member of the church of Jesus Christ of latter-day Saints, and was called to service in Sunday School, and working with small children.

Nona is preceded in death by her grandfather, James Bondurant, grandmother, Octava Bondurant, Uncle Sam Bondurant, and two infant uncles, Victor Joe and baby boy and a niece Vanessa Tome. She is survived by her sons Trent and Tarron Taggart, her mother Myrtle Jane Davis, her siblings, Jeff, Bill, and Nettie Davis, Mary Ibrahim her nieces and nephews Skot Tome, Andrew Tome, Victoria Tome, Michael Ibrahim, Sophia Ibrahim and great nieces and nephews Vincent Tome, Isabella Baade, Bella and Paisley Tome, Hartley Tome, Alexandria Ibrahim as well as numerous nieces nephews and cousins.
