Mario Luna Hernandez

June 20, 1967 — June 14, 2023

Mario Luna Hernandez, 55, of Haslet, TX, passed away unexpectedly at home on Wednesday, June 14, 2023, accompanied by his wife.

Mario was born in San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato, Mexico on June 20, 1967. He was one of 6 children to Juana Rangel and Santiago Hernandez. He is survived by his wife, Maricela V. Hernandez; his son, Mario A. Hernandez; his daughter, Maricela, and son-in-law, Paul Langston; and two grandsons, Remington and Calvin; and one granddaughter, Heidi. He is also survived by his mom, whom he recently visited in Mexico, five siblings, their spouses, and many nieces and nephews.

He worked as a pharmaceutical sales representative in Mexico but immigrated to the United States shortly after. In 1994 he met his wife Maricela V. Hernandez, and together they shared 28 years of marriage and two children, Mario A., and Maricela. He loved his children and his wife in his own manly way and strived to always give them the best by devoting his life to them. He enjoyed working as a pipeline welder, and after grueling stays in the oil field, he would always bring home small gifts for his family as a way of showing how much he cherished and loved them. At work, he was entertained by the company of his many co-workers and gave each of them a loving nickname. He would often share stories of them with his family. Mario also enjoyed grilling on his homemade grill. During the hot spring and summer days, he and his wife would prepare fajitas, steaks, and many sides to savor with their children after long, hot days. Lastly, Mario was beyond excited about the arrival of his first granddaughter but enjoyed the rambunctious presence of his two grandsons, Remi and Calvin. In addition, Mario was also very proud of his son for continuing his education and having recently added an Accounting major to his Finance major at the University of North Texas. While going to school and simultaneously working a full-time job, he was proud of the responsible and hardworking man his son has grown up to be.
