Obituary

L.B. Weast, 84, of Fort Worth, Texas, passed away peacefully on September 9, 2026. He was born on August 29, 1942, in Oak Grove, Louisiana.

L.B. was a longtime resident of Fort Worth, having called the city home for approximately 76 years. Although he was born in Louisiana, he was a proud seventh-generation Texan, with his family’s roots in Texas dating back to 1824.

In 1986, L.B. and his wife Joan established L.B.’s Appliances in Fort Worth. He owned and operated the business for many years and enjoyed the people he met along the way. L.B. was a people person who never met a stranger and made many lasting friendships throughout his life. He especially enjoyed visiting with customers and friends while selling at the flea market in Cleburne, where his friendly nature and willingness to talk with others made him a familiar and welcomed presence.

Those who knew L.B. will remember his sense of humor and his playful personality. He had a knack for making little wisecracks that were both cute and funny, often bringing a smile to those around him. He especially enjoyed teasing his daughter-in-law, Christi, about spending too much money—a familiar joke that became one of their special memories together. L.B. also had a particular fondness for his granddogs Gia and Baylee. He was a loving Grandfather and always had a little cash to give his grandson Grayson. He was great father to Lori and Lance. They shared many memories throughout the years that will be treasured. He was always there in the hard times to help his children and was a life long Christian.

L.B. was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 50 years, Joan Bohannan Weast, and his son-in-law, Tommy Caldwell.

He is survived by his daughter, Lori Caldwell of Fort Worth, Texas; his son and daughter-in-law, Lance and Christi Weast of Midlothian, Texas; and his beloved grandson, Grayson Weast of Midlothian, Texas.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
