Kenneth Leeray Jones was born September 13, 1934 in Topeka, Kansas. He passed away on August 19, 2025 in Fort Worth, Texas at 90 years of age.
Kenneth was a proud veteran, serving in the United States Army before being discharged at the rank of Sargeant. Following his military career, he was an industrious man, working as a former business owner, fabricator, crane operator, and equipment operator. He was also often involved in city projects. Most of all, Ken loved to just tinker around in his shop and work on personal projects.
A devoted husband, Ken was married to the love of his life, Pearline Joan (Gardner) Jones for 66 years, before her passing in 2020. Over the course of their lives they built together, they raised two sons, Mike and Jerry, and doted on their many Grandkids, Great-Grandkids, and Great-Great-Grandkids.
He could be stern at times, but Kenneth will be remembered as a man who had a gentle and kind heart when you sat down and got to know him. He loved to tell stories, that’s for sure. If you got to know who he was, you were incredibly blessed.
Kenneth will be survived by his sons, Mike Jones and Jerry Jones; grandchildren, Kenneth and Rebecca Jones, Kathy and John Thompson, Brian and Nicole Jones; great-grandchildren, August Thompson, Bailey and Victoria Thompson, Korbin Jones; and great-great-grandchildren, Johnny Thompson, Alex Thompson, Conrad Thompson, Sophia Hayes, and Niko Thompson.
Committal Service will be held with US Army Honors at 3:15 P.M., Friday, September 12, 2025 at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery located at 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, Texas 75211.
