Jeremy Victor Smith of Granbury, Texas passed away Thursday April 30th, 2026. Jeremy was born on August 2nd, 1985 in Murray, Utah to Daniel D. Smith and Marguerite M. (Paffel) Smith. Jeremy grew up in Sandy, Utah where he graduated from Jordan High School in 2003. He later completed the HVACR program at Fortis College in Salt Lake City, Utah. 

Growing up he loved playing basketball with his siblings and hanging out with his friends. Life had it's challenges for Jeremy but he became strong in his Catholic faith which brought him peace and centering. Jeremy's most treasured roll was being a father to his son Benjamin, and father figure to his niece Kashmir. Before his passing he loved to spend hours fishing Lake Granbury in Texas where he honed his skills at catching Large Mouth Bass.

Jeremy will be greatly missed and may not have known how many people loved him from neighbors to friends and his family. Jeremy is survived by his son Benjamin Neeley, his mother and father Daniel D. and Marguerite M. Smith. His brother and sister Joshua W. Smith (Molly) and Beverly J.A. Smith, his nieces Gabrielle Smith and Kashmir Smith, his nephews Nathan Smith and Connor Smith. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Victor Smith, Beverly Smith, Wayne Paffel and Jean Paffel.

A private family Mass will be held for Jeremy on June 9th, 2026 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Waxahachie, TX. Jeremy will be laid to rest in Maypearl, TX.

Rest in peace beloved son, brother, father and uncle. You were and always will be greatly loved and missed. May your journey to heaven finally bring you peace. We will one day see you again at the gates of the kingdom to come.
