Obituary

George “Jimmy” Martin, age 75, passed away peacefully at his home in North Richland Hills, Texas on April 29, 2026. He was born on July 26, 1950 in Frederick, Oklahoma.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, Georgia Ruth McCollum McArdle and Bobby Ray McArdle.

He is lovingly remembered by his sons, Brandon Martin and Trevor Martin; his four siblings; as well as extended family members and many dear friends whose lives were touched by his presence.

Jimmy spent his early years in Oklahoma before making his way to Fort Worth, Texas, where he built a respected career as a superintendent in the construction industry. His work quite literally helped shape the Dallas-Fort Worth area; if you’ve spent time on the roads of DFW, there’s a good chance Jimmy had a hand in building the path beneath you.

As a young man, Jimmy was involved in Boy Scouts, an experience that helped foster his lifelong love of the outdoors. He found joy in motocross, fishing, canoeing, and cheering on his beloved OU Sooners. Whether outside on an adventure or gathered with friends and family, Jimmy brought energy and laughter wherever he went.

Known for his fun-loving spirit, quick wit, and outgoing nature, Jimmy was truly the life of the party. He loved a good prank but fair warning, he was always ready to outdo anyone who tried to prank him first. More than anything, Jimmy valued the people in his life. He made it a point to tell those he loved exactly how he felt, never taking a single conversation for granted.

A graveside service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 9, 2026 at Grapevine Cemetery, located at N. Dooley Street and Wildwood Lane, Grapevine, Texas 76051. Flowers may be delivered to Alpine Funeral Home by 5pm on Friday so that they may be taken to the cemetery on behalf of the family.

In honor of Jimmy’s memory, may we all be reminded to never leave words of love unspoken. Take every opportunity to tell the people in your life, “I love you.”
