Elizabeth Carolyn (Tischer) Dufresne Obituary

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Elizabeth Carolyn (Tischer) Dufresne, age 57, of Fort Worth, Texas, on June 17, 2026. Elizabeth was born in Huntsville, Alabama, on July 16,1968. She grew up in Creve Coeur, Missouri and was a graduate of Parkway North High School, class of 1986. She received a B.S. degree in Architectural Engineering from the University of Kansas in Lawrence, Kansas, in 1991; and most recently lived in Fort Worth, Texas with her son, Georg Dufresne.

Beloved mother, sister and daughter, she will be deeply missed by her family.

Along with her many interests, Elizabeth was a member of the Alpha Chi Omega sorority, Daughters of the Magna Carta, and the Episcopal Church. She was a creative soul and a devoted and loving mother.

Elizabeth loved to laugh. She was observant and sensitive. She loved her pets, music, art and creating a warm and loving home. She loved beautiful objects and antiques. She loved old movies and reminiscing about her own childhood. She adored her time as a mother and was very close to her son, Georg. She had a photographer’s eye (a true artist) and the most beautiful handwriting. A classic architect’s handwriting.

As an architectural engineer, she designed lighting installations for some of Dallas/Fort Worth’s major institutions. And, as a mother, she was most proud to have a son who brought her so much joy.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Carolyn McLure Tischer of Alexandria, Louisiana. Survivors include her son, Georg Arthur Dufresne of Fort Worth, TX; her father, Arthur H. Tischer of St. Louis, MO; her sisters, Katherine C. Bello (Patrick Bello) of Mission Hills, KS and Anne D. Cota (John Cota) of St. Louis, MO; and her former husband, Henrik Dufresne, of Arlington,TX.

Elizabeth will be buried near her mother at the Bellefontaine Cemetery and Arboretum in St. Louis, MO.
