Donna Lajean Hogue was born on August 18, 1939, in Denton, Texas, to the late Mildred Derlean (Johnson) and Robert Earl Barnett. She passed away peacefully on April 19, 2025, in Mansfield, Texas, at the age of 85.
Donna was a proud graduate of Denton High School, where she served as a majorette. Over the years, she built a strong career in accounting and payroll, working for numerous companies. Beyond her professional life, Donna had a spirited love for adventure and creativity. She enjoyed visiting the casino, crafting intricate beadwork, sewing, and making beautiful jewelry. She also had a passion for historical rendezvous adventure trips, where she relished experiencing life as our ancestors did on the frontier and in the wilderness.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents, Mildred and Robert, and her beloved children: Robert Wayne Lawson, Kathy Smith, and Karen Frankston. Also, by her nephew, Steven Brian Wafer along with a grandson, Alan Thomas.
She is survived by her brother, Jimmy Earl Barnett and his wife, Janis, of Terrell, Texas; her sister, Roberta Pelley Sessom and her husband, Danny, of Azle, Texas; her nephew, Brian Barnett; her niece, Melissa Johnson; and niece; Jana Hardwick as well as granddaughter, Heather Schooley and grandson Robert Wayne Lawson; and two great grandchildren. Additionally; numerous great-nieces and great-nephews who will continue to cherish her memory.
Donna's love for life, family, and adventure will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, May 15, 2025 at First Baptist Church of Azle located at 1017 Boyd Road, Azle, Texas 76020
