Diana Cardenas

September 30, 1956 — August 1, 2023

Fort Worth

Diana “Di” Cardenas, age 66, of Fort Worth, passed away surrounded by her family and loved ones on August 1, 2023.  She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt.
Diana was born and raised in Fort Worth to Jose and Maria Cardenas.  To her family, she was affectionately known as “Nana.” Diana was a highly accomplished baker and craftsman for most of her life.  She loved to bake for the holidays, especially Thanksgiving, and for all family gatherings.  Diana was the family’s official wreath and homecoming mum creator.  Everything she created, she did with love. Diana's favorite hobbies were reading books, gardening, and playing games during family game nights.  She was the rock of our family, and she was our second mother.  Our hearts are heavy, but we are grateful for knowing that Diana is no longer in pain, and she will always remain our family’s Guardian Angel.
Diana was preceded in death by her parents Jose and Maria, her brothers Joe and Sabino, and her nephew Nicholas. Diana is survived by her daughter Michelle Becerra (husband Christian), nephew (whom she helped raise), Marcus Cardenas (wife Jennifer), grandchildren Janna Rae, Carissa, and Delanie; her great-grandson, Anthony; her brother, John Cardenas (wife Mona); sister, Mary Lou Raines; brother, Mario Cardenas (wife Denise); sister-in-law, Josie Cardenas; sister, Esther Talavera (husband Victor); sister, Teresa Cardenas Perez (fiancé Jimmy); sister, Lisa C. Clemons (Husband, LC) and numerous nieces and nephews.
Rosary and viewing will be held on Tuesday, August 8, 2023, between 6 pm – 8 pm at Calvario Funeral Home, 111 W. Northside Drive, Fort Worth.  The burial ceremony will be held at noon on Wednesday, August 9, 2023, at Mount Olivet Cemetery, 2301 N. Sylvania Ave, Fort Worth.

The Cardenas family would like to thank the ICU Nurses of Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital of Fort Worth, who provided excellent care for Diana and were compassionate and supportive of our family.
