David Charles Wiggs Obituary   David Charles Wiggs, 62, of Arlington, passed away on Friday, Aug. 28, 2020, in his home from unknown causes. He was born on April 1, 1958 to Wallace Wiggs and Carroll Moore Wiggs in Dover, Delaware. After birth he had several surgeries, one of which was for a test product by DuPont to fix the opening inside of his mouth due to Cleft Palate. With the surgery being a success, years of speech therapy were needed. This led to his pristine ability to enunciate words and have excellent proper grammar usage. David attended Saline High School in Louisiana. In 1977 he joined the Army. After bootcamp that same year he married his high school sweetheart; Janice Brown. David was stationed for 2 years at Fort Carson in Colorado Springs, CO. After his last two years at McKee Barracks in Crailsheim, Germany, he returned home earning an associate’s degree with honors from DeVry University. David used his electrical engineering skills for a successful career at Texas Instruments. Several years and jobs later, he married Huyen Nguyen and retired in 2015. His proudest achievements in life were: being a strong and opinionated father to his two daughters, Candace and Michelle; and having silly moments of fun with his only grandchild Harper (5), known to her as her “Boom Pa”. He enjoyed: spending time with family; grilling whenever possible the best ribs known to man; listening to music, but loudly with a good set of speakers; watching football, Nascar, the daily news, and infomercials which he seemed to always order from; eating, always having a coffee mug of ice cold whole milk; cleaning and practice shooting his guns; giving gifts to others just because, napping, taking in stray dogs; joking around, talking on the phone for hours at a time, birdwatching; learning new vocabulary; watching classic horror movies, Twilight Zone, or Classic Christmas Movies like “A Christmas Story”; donating to Shriners Hospital who assisted him as an infant and living life to the fullest ALWAYS his way. He will forever be greatly missed for his straightforward attitude towards life, guidance in teaching both of his daughters to speak up for what is right and justice and to always defend ourselves, his very unique sense of humor, his skills with cooking on the grill, those 12:01AM birthday calls so that he can be the first one we speak to and know that he remembers, sleepovers for Halloween night and watching how excited you get to see all the different child costumes, texts about the weather and to drive safe, but mostly we’ll miss those hour long phone calls, tight bear hugs, your voice, and making memories with you.  Dad we will always and forever continue to love you, think of you, and remember all of the special moments that you gave to us. Thank you for being our Dad! Love for you always, Candace and Michelle David is preceded in death by his father Wallace Wiggs and mother Carroll Moore Wiggs.David is survived by his daughter Candace Wiggs Petricca (from his previous marriage to Janice Brown Wiggs), son-in-law David Petricca and their daughter Harper Lee; daughter Michelle Nicole (from his previous marriage to Huyen Nguyen Wiggs); siblings: Robert Wiggs and his wife Beth, Karen Wiggs Liu and her husband Dominic as well as several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. The Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, 12th of September, 2020, starting at 2:00 p.m. at Alpine Funeral Home 2300 N. Sylvania Ave, Fort Worth, TX 76111.  Burial services will be announced soon when released from DFW National Cemetery.
