Cynthia Marie Smarz

Cynthia Smarz, 59, of Fort Worth, TX passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by family, on Sunday July 30, 2023 after a 3.5 year battle with Stage 4 Breast Cancer.

Cynthia was born on February 23, 1964 in Wichita Falls, TX to William “Bill” Fritz Smarz and Amparo “Betty” Torres Smarz. She was the youngest of 4 children, her oldest sibling, Fritz, was 10 years her senior. Being the youngest in the family of course she wanted to do everything her elder siblings did and followed them everywhere. After graduating from Diamond Hill-Jarvis High School in 1982, she went on to study at Tarrant County Community College and trade schools, first chasing her dream to become a hair stylist at Ogle Beauty School and then later to become a medical assistant which she continued to do for over 30 years.

She and her husband, Vincent Jones, went on to have 3 children; Brandy, Christopher, and Caitlyn whom they both love with all their hearts. When the children were little, they lived in Ogden, Utah for many years where Vincent was stationed at Hill Air force Base. When Vincent left the Air Force, they decided to move back to Texas so that Cynthia could be near her parents, where she lived until the time of her passing. Over the years she worked in many medical facilities as a medical assistant and loved caring for her patients and building lifelong friendships with her co-workers. She loved taking care of others and was overjoyed at the birth of all her grandchildren. She had an unwavering faith that got her through many tough times in her life and enjoyed going to church to honor that faith in God. She had a strong community of friends, family, and coworkers who were there to support her in her time of need and who will always remember her laughing, dancing, and enjoying her time on Earth. She was truly a beloved Mother, Daughter, Bella, Sister, Aunt, and friend to all those she encountered; she will be missed beyond measure. We Love You Bella!!!

Survivors: Ex-Husband, Vincent Jones; Daughter and son-in-law, Brandy Jones and Benjamin Bullock along with their 3 dogs: Dakota, Karma and Tank; Daughter and son-in-law, Caitlyn Jones and Todd Stewart; Grandchildren, An’Yiah Stewart, Ryder Jones-Hobbs, Bryant Jones, Adrianna Jones, Bryson Stewart; Sisters, Terry Melaun and Diann Smarz; Numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; Along with many, many dear friends
