Charles Weldon Vance Jr. age 85, passed away on January 27, 2026 in Fort Worth TX.
Charles was born on August 20th, 1940, in Madison IL to the late Charles Weldon Vance Sr. and Elsie Vance. He graduated from Madison high school and went on to proudly serve his country in the United States Marine Corps. Following his military service, he was employed as a carpenter by Boeing aircraft in Long Beach CA.
Charlie was a skilled Carpenter who found great joy in working with his hands. He built beautiful furniture and took pride in his craftsmanship. He also cherished his many friendships at the Haltom City Senior Center where he faithfully served as a volunteer driver helping friends and neighbors get where they needed to go. His kindness and willingness to serve others left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
He is survived by his beloved wife Ludwiga Vance of Haltom City TX, his son George Berrie, his sister Doris Marie Lassen, and his brother David Vance of Illinois. He was preceded in death by his sister Betty Cook and his brother Richard Vance.
Charles will be remembered for his service, his craftsmanship and his generous spirit.
Visitation will be held from 2:00PM-4:00PM, Monday, February 23rd at Alpine Funeral Home located at 2300 N Sylvania Avenue, Fort Worth, Texas 76111. A full military funeral ceremony will take place at 10:15AM, Tuesday, February 24th at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery located at 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, Texas 75211.
