Audrey Faye Yant

Audrey Faye Yant was born on March 7, 1940 in Fort Worth, Texas, the eighth of 10 children to the late Bertha Mae (Harcrow) Smith and Ernest Aaron Smith.  She passed away on May 3, 2023 in Weatherford, Texas at the age of 83 years old.

Audrey was raised in Arlington and attended Polytechnic High School in Fort Worth. She married Donald Jack Yant on May 3, 1957. She and her family were longtime residents of Hurst and Bedford.  She was a devoted employee until retirement at HEB School District. She was a committed volunteer at Texas Health HEB Hospital where she served on the volunteer Executive Board many times.  Audrey also loved her time working at Pennington Field during the high school football games. She was a member of William C. Martin United Methodist Church. Her passion was traveling and of course, she also liked to shop.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Bertha Mae Smith; her husband of 53 years, Donald Jack Yant; siblings, Addie Stout, John Ernest Smith, Minnie Askew, and Berta Thompson.

She is survived by her children: son, Donald Glenn “Bubba” Yant of Granbury; daughter, Michelle Yant Hutson and husband, Bobby of Weatherford; and daughter, Stephanie Yant Marshall of Blythewood, South Carolina; siblings: Betty Kirkham, Ernestine Ross, Dennis Smith, Pat Stafford, and Pam Cato; three grandchildren: Jennifer Whiteis Scott, Michael Whiteis, and Catie Marshall Guenther; three great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
