Amelia Perez Valdez

Amelia Perez Valdez, 72, of Fort Worth, Texas, passed away on the evening of January 28, 2026. She was born on November 21, 1953, in Austin, Texas, to Lucia Ramirez and Eugene Martinez Perez. Amelia remained in Texas throughout her life, where she built a strong foundation of love, family, and cherished memories.

Amelia was preceded in death by her mother, Lucia Perez; her daughter, Wanda Flores; and her brothers: Gene, Johnny, Jesse, and Victor Perez.

She is survived by her children: Sonya (Jose) Gonzalez, Maria (Flugencio) Flores, Joshua Cortez, and Melissa Perez. Amelia was a proud and loving grandmother to Angel, Andrea, Joe Anthony, Mark Anthony, Jacqulin, Joseph, Daisia, Julissa, Flugencio Jr., Alfredo Jr., Aaron, Jesus, Angelica, Paul, Zariah, and Dolly, and a devoted great-grandmother to 19 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters: Margarita “Margie,” Gloria, and Stella; her brothers: Jorge and Joe John; as well as many extended family members and friends who will forever remember her warmth, strength, and love.

Amelia’s legacy lives on through the generations she nurtured and the many lives she touched.
